China's homebred passenger vehicle sales totaled 4.002 million units in the first seven months of 2013, up 12.3% from the same period last year, according to the latest data published by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
These vehicles accounted for 40.4% of China's total passenger vehicle sales during the period, down 0.4 percentage point from a year ago.
In a breakdown, sales of sedans under homegrown brands rose 12.2% year on year to 1.81 million units in the first seven months, taking up 27.1% of China's total sedan sales during the period, a slight increase of 0.3 percentage point from the corresponding period of 2012.
