By the end of June, China's NEV parc totaled 1.99 million units, according to the data released by the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. Moreover, China has fully adopted NEV-exclusive license plates nationwide.
By the end of last month, China posted motor vehicle parc of 319 million units, among which, the newly-registered motor vehicles reached 16.36 million units during the first half of 2018, edging up 2.6% compared to the same period last year. Till the end of June, China's car parc totaled 229 million units and the newly-registered cars reached 13.81 million units during the first half of 2018.
Pure electric vehicles took up 81.4% of the total NEV parc to 1.62 million units. With parc reaching 240,000 units, new energy trucks have taken up 12.1% of NEV's total parc. According to the Energy Saving and New Energy Automotive Industry Development Plan (2012-2020) issued by the State Council, China's NEV output and sales will top 5 million units by 2020. It is indicated that China will continue to rev up NEV output and sales over the next two years.
Till the end of last year, China's NEV parc reached 1.53 million units, accounting for 0.7% of total car parc. However, during the past six months, China's NEV parc increased 460,000 units, taking up 0.87% of its total parc.
The privately-registered small-size and micro passenger cars reached 180 million units, taking up 78.6% of whole car parc. Statistically, the average parc growth of privately-owned cars reached 1.66 million units from the beginning of 2018.
As of the end of June, car parc in 58 Chinese cities topped 1 million units, 9 cities more compared with the same period last year. Among them, 26 cities have their car parc topped 2,000,000 units. Strikingly, seven cities, including Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Shenzhen and Zhengzhou, boasted car parc of more than 3,000,000 units.
