J.D. Power: China will be the biggest single SUV market after 2015

In accordance with the data from J. D. Power, China will be the biggest single SUV SUV after 2015 and Chinese customers will have more choices.

At present, the market share of SUV in China auto market has already come to 26% and the sales volume of SUV in China is estimated to reach 6.29 million per year in the next 1 or 2 years, more than 5.72 million of America auto market. In 2018, the quantity of SUV models of China auto market will be nearly twice as the volume of America. The sales volume of Chinese local brands SUV was 1.82 million in 2014, more than 0.99 million of Euro SUV, which was the most salable of foreign brands and the gap would be bigger and bigger.

The market share of SUV equipped with 2.0L to 2.5L engines is 57% at present in China auto market. But the sales volume of SUV with less than 2.0L engines has increased rapidly due to environmental consciousness and energy conservation calling and its market share was 27% in 2014.

The quality and appearance are the main factors when customers choose SUV. The number of defects of SUV per 100 vehicles was 88 in 2014 while the average data was 104. But the higher price is the main reason why some customers refuse to buy SUV. In future few years, the average price of SUV will remain around 300,000 Yuan, which is 100,000 Yuan more than other models in auto industry. The fuel consumption is another reason to refuse SUV and also the biggest quality problem of SUV.
