Japanese automakers first stepping outside the sales slump shadow in China in June

Both in sales and market share, Japanese automakers, including Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mazda, have reported growth through cutting vehicle selling price and introducing new models.

Toyota reported sales in June surging 41.7% from a year earlier to 100,600 units in China, 10,000 units more than May. And the company’s accumulative sales of the first half of the year increased 10.1% from a year earlier to 512,800 units on a year-on-year basis. The growths were mainly contributed by the hot-selling new Highlander, Corolla, Levin and so on.

The aggregation of Honda’s two joint-ventures in China in June, GAC Honda and Dong Feng Honda was 73,400 units, increasing 26.1% compared with last year. The two joint-ventures both made records in June with respectively sales of 45,200 units and 28,200 units. And Honda’s accumulative sales for the first half of the year were 460,900 units, increasing 30.4% on a year-on-year basis.

Nissan’s sales in China in June were 93,600 units, a year-on-year 0.1% minimal increase. And its accumulative sales in the first half of the year were 587,900 units, gaining 5.7% from last year.

And Changan Mazda sold 10,300 units in June, a 28.9% year-on-year growth.
