Nearly 50% pure electric vehicles have no spare tire

A domestic research team released the Application Trend of Spare Tire by Passenger Car.

Taking car models being launched in the market in the past 15 years as samples, the report analyzes the equipment and use of spare tires by passenger cars.

In general, spare tire includes full size spare tire and non-full-size spare tire. Full size spare tire refers to a tire with its specification and size exactly the same as the vehicle's original tires; while non-full-size tire spare refers to a tire with its diameter and width slightly smaller than the vehicle's original tires.

Over the past 15 years, as much as 88.7% cars were equipped with spare tires and 45.78% cars were equipped with full size spare tires.

Most Korean, Japanese and domestic cars, over 60%, were equipped with full size spare tires.

While less European and American cars were equipped with spare tires, and mostly non-full-size spare tires.

At the same time, the square tire equipment ratio goes down as the car price goes high.

Among cars between 0 to 100,000 yuan, only 0.48% cars were not equipped with spare tires, and mostly are full size tires.

Among cars above 500,000 yuan, 34.71% were not equipped with spare tires, and 43.41% of the cars were equipped with non-full-size spare tires.

In addition, only 11.45% of traditional fuel cars were not equipped with spare tires; while 37.67% of hybrid cars and 49.21% of and pure electric cars were not equipped with spare tires.
