Rubber futures traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) settled lower on Friday (Aug. 1, 2014).
The most actively traded contract for January 2015 delivery ended at 15,485 yuan/metric yuan, down 1.78 percent from the previous settlement.
The SHFE rubber pulled back from early highs after the January contract hit the highest level since July 4.
Analysts tip short-term resistance at 15,300 yuan/tonne.
