The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) will hold a meeting June 9 at its headquarters on the final phase of antidumping and countervailing duty investigations of passenger and light truck tires imported from China.
The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the ITC Main Hearing Room in Washington, according to the agency’s website.
Interested parties who want to testify at the hearing must have filed written requests with the ITC by June 3. The prehearing conference for those who want to appear at the hearing will be held at ITC headquarters at 9:30 a.m. June 4.
Prehearing briefs were due June 2 and post-hearing briefs June 16, according to the ITC.
In July 2014, the ITC voted 6-0 that it found “a reasonable indication” of material injury to the U.S. tire industry because of alleged Chinese government subsidies to tire manufacturers and alleged sales in the U.S. at less than fair value.
The Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration has since made preliminary determinations on countervailing and antidumping duty margins against manufacturers and distributors of Chinese tires.
Commerce’s final determinations on countervailing and antidumping duties are due June 12. If Commerce’s findings are affirmative, the ITC said it will make a final material injury ruling in July.
