Several Chinese companies taking part in the Africa Tyrexpo 2016, an international tyre fair held in Johannesburg, South Africa have clinched deals with international exhibitors to tap into new markets.
The fair which kicked off on Tuesday has brought together 99 companies from 40 countries. 57 of the companies were from China.
China’s Qingdao Qizhou Rubber Company, a manufacturer of agricultural tyres and off the road tyres signed a deal with a Singaporean company.Peter Zhang, sales director of the company told Xinhua that he is satisfied with the show.
“This morning we signed a long-term contract with Stanford Tyre from Singapore as they were happy with the quality of our tyres and our prices. We will send their consignment next week or the week after,”he said,
Zhongce Rubber Group, a top Chinese tyre exporter, had meetings with various companies and agreed in principle to deals with companies from Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Zambia and South Africa.
“We have confidence in the African market even though some African countrIes face economic challenges at the moment. We are happy with the current cooperation and hope for more business deals in future,” the company’s Sales Director for Asia and Africa, Lai Yan said,
Eileen Hair, one of the organizers of the fair told Xinhua that Africa Tyrexpo 2016 is aimed at attracting more investment into the automotive and manufacturing sectors.
Hair said workshops have been held during the three-day show with focuses on automotive repair and maintenance, services and tyre sustainability.
She added some innovative solutions to tyre repair and maintenance have been brought up during this year’s exhibition. Enditem
