The 2nd China Green Tire Safety Week campaign was initiated on June 15 in Qingdao, Shandong province.
In the same time, China Rubber Industry Association published the Standards for Tire Ratings and the Management Rules for Tire Labeling, and released the samples of tire labels.

Different Way of Implementation
Deng Yali, chairwomen of CRIA, said at the address speech that in China, the tires will belabeled voluntarily.
Such mode is quite different from the European Union’s.
EU said in its labeling law that all the tires sold in EU must be labeled with relevant marks.
An industry expert said indicators including tire grip in dry/wet conditions, braking distance, rolling resistance (fuel consumption), roadway noise, steering response could vary between different types of tires.
(EU Tire Labels Pattern)
Tire labeling “selected” those with higher technical request, namely rolling resistance, tire grip in dry/wet conditions, and roadway noise, as measurements in rating the tires on the market.
Judging from the situation in EU, as tire industry develops further, tire labeling in China will be mandatory.
CRIA rolling out tire labels aims to encourage green manufacturing and consumption, and to promote technical progress, quality improvement and structure reform of China’s tire industry.
Deng emphasized that implementing tire labeling system will help consumers tell the differences between good and bad tires, and satisfy consumers’ demand for green, energy-efficient, safe tires.
Conditions Available for Tire Labeling
Deng said as the world’s major tire producer, a green low-carbon path of development will be a necessary choice for its tire industry to transform, evolve, and realize sustainable development.
CRIA initiated the green tire industrialization progress in 2012 and held the Global Tire Tech forum since 2014, in a bid to promote tire industry’s transformation, upgrade and sustainable development.
CRIA launched the Green Tire Safety Week for the first time in 2015.
Under the support and guidance of authorities, CRIA organized and conducted ground research on green development of China’s tire industry and push forward establishing a tire labeling mechanism.
China basically has the condition to implement the tire labeling regulation.
Over the past decade, China’s tire industry experienced rapid development and achieved breakthrough in quality and quantity.
Green low-carbon strategy is involved in Chinese government’s long-term development plan and is emphasized by companies.
The tire companies are no exception.
