The third environmental protection inspection group of the central government reported on Dec. 26, 2017, to Shandong provincial government that failing in completely carrying out the key works to combat air pollution was one of the major issues of the locality.
Sailun Jinyu fined heavily
As chemical producers, tire enterprises can hardly avoid producing waste gases during the process of production.
As the central government enhanced environmental protection inspection in 2017, Shandong authorities also strengthened environmental protection patrol and punishment.
Failing in discharging waste gases as required is the key issue of tire enterprises being fined.
Sailun Jinyu Group Co., Ltd. was fined 300,000 yuan for air pollution.
Moreover, Yellow Sea Tire Co., Ltd. in Dongying city and Shandong Haoyu Rubber Co., Ltd. were also penalized for discharging foul gases.
Time needed to deal with illegal discharge
The feedback of the environmental protection inspection group of the central government shows that Shandong’s air protection situation is grim.
The densities of the PM 10 particles and PM 2.5 particles in the province were the last but three and the last but four, respectively, in China in 2016.
An industry insider said the air pollution in the province can hardly be solved completely soon.
As an important manufacturer in China, Shandong has to eliminate large amount of outdated capacity and boost energy conservation and emission reduction policies, so as to completely solve the issue of air pollution.
Tire production is a key sector to be dealt with.
The province has already taken actions. In 2017, Shandong raised 12.58 billion yuan to combat air pollution, and the amount of fund was 4.66 billion yuan more than in 2016.
