Sales of Japanses-brand, German-brand vehicles keep growing in 2011, while China’s own-brand vehicles decline slightly year on year, according to the lastest data released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers(CAAM).
Sales of Japanese-brand cars performed outstanding in Dec. 2011, and Honda’s Accord exceeded Volks Wagon’s Lavida won the first place. Meanwhile, Toyota’s Corolla ranked higher, and Honda’s City also squeezed into the first-ten in the same period.
The German-brand peformed steadily. Volks wagon’s Santana, taking place of Jetta, was steady among the top-ten, the same with Lavida, Polo and Bora.
American-brand Chevrolet’s New Sail, Cruze and Ford’s Focus were still on the list£?but no China’s own-brand car was listed in the top ten.
The top ten sales cars in Dec. were: Accord car, Lavida, Polo, Bora, Sail, Corolla, Santana, City, Cruze, Focus. With the sales of 25 thousand units, 24.1 thousand units, 21.7 thousand units, 19.3 thousand units, 18.9 thousand units, 18.5 thousand units, 18.3 thousand units, 17.8 thousand units, 17.5 thousand units, 16.6 thousand units, respectively. The Accord, City, Polo and Santana sales high and the increasing speed of them were all over 20 percent compared to last month. The above ten brand-cars sold 197.7 thousand units in Dec., occupying 21 percent of the total, according to CAAM.
In 2011, the top ten sales cars in 2011were: Excelle, Lavida, Cruze, Jetta, Bora, Santana, Sail, Xiali , Yue new Elantra, Focus with the sales of 253.5 thousand units, 247.5 thousand units, 221.2 thousand units, 217.9 thousand units, 207.0 thousand units, 204.0 thousand units, 197.9 thousand units, 196.5 thousand units, 191.0 thousand units, 189.0 thousand units, respectively. The above ten brand-cars sold 2.1255 million units in 2011, occupying 21 percent of the total.
Judging from the top ten list, we could see that China’s ow-brand cars performed poorly in 2011. Xiali, the eighth, was the only one of China’s own-brand cars, and F3, the top of last year slipped off from the top ten.
On the other hand, American and German-brand cars are the most popular brands in Chinese car market. And we could predict that foreigh-brand cars would keep squeezing occupation ratio of China’s own-brand cars in 2012.
