According to China Automobile Dealers Association, the sales of used-cars in China may fall short of the 10-million sales target surprisingly, despite of the bullish industry experts.
For the first 11 months of 2015, the sales of used-cars in China only totaled 8,400,300 units while the average monthly sales of used-cars were around 800,000 units, which mean the sales of China’s used-cars mayvery likely fall short of the 10-million sales target.
ShenRong, Deputy Secretary of the Association, predicted the actually sales of used-cars in Chinese market in 2015 would probably lie between 9,400,000 to 9,500,000 units.
In fact, the sales of used-car once fell in October with only 720,200 units, a decrease of 7.68% compared with last October and of 8.10% compared with this July. Geographically, some prosperous used-car market, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and Shangdong, also witnessed sales decrease of used-cars.
Experts believed the overall depressing auto market and policy restraint upon the circulation of used-cars has been holding back the sales of used-car in China. But the good news is China’s Ministry of Commerce has sent letters to six automobile associations, seeking suggestions for the amendment of the outgoing Management Measures of the Circulation of Second-hand Vehicles, and a new vision is expected to be issued soon. China will also phase out other restraints upon the circulation of used-cars and further boost this market segment. Besides, the development of many e-commerce platforms will also contribute to the sales of used-cars. Under this background, most industry experts are very positive that the sales of used-cars in China will definitely surpass 10-million sales in the coming 2016.
