The Carbon Market Development Forum of Scrap Tire Industry was held lately in Tianjin municipality.
Notably that sponsors of the conference bought carbon-emission quota from Tianjin Climate Exchange to neutralize carbon emission generated by the conference.
On the very date, Wang Jing, general manager of Tianjin Climate Exchange, read the“carbon neutralization certification”, proving the conference was “carbon-free”.
It means the 1.739-ton carbon dioxide emission generated from the conference was offset by the carbon emission quota purchased from Tianjin Climate Exchange.
It was the first voluntary emission reduction conference launched by the scrap tire industry.
As a proactive participant addressing global climate change, China has promised that by 2030, it would cut carbon emission per GDP by 60-65% from 2005.
