Guangdong Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce released on Aug. 11 the Information Bulletin on Quality Verification on Auto Tires in the Field of Circulation for 2015-2016.
Quality inspectors checked 119 groups of auto tire samples from 72 distributors in 10 prefecture-level cities and the products were from 78 producers.
Twenty groups of tires failed in passing the selective check, including 11 groups failed in passing the tag check, and the failure rate of the verification was 16.8%.
The qualification rate of passenger car tires was 92.1%; and that of heavy-duty truck tires was 75.5%, if the 10 groups failing in passing the tag check were excluded, the qualification rate was 95.9%.
The qualification rate of retread heavy-duty truck tires was merely 57.1%.
Three types of passenger car tires from Continental, Kumho Tire, and Jinyu Tyres failed in passing the check on high speed performance because of abnormal deformation, which is rarely seen among such tires.
Two heavy-duty truck tire models and one retread heavy-duty truck tire model failed to pass the durability check.
Only one passenger car tire model failed in passing the check on the size of rim.
In terms of wearing tag on the tread, two retread tire models produced by Guyili Tire and Meixian Meiwei Tire failed to pass the check.
In addition, a number of tire producers were discovered failing to pass the tag check.
