High Acceptance of China’s Compound Rubber Imports

Six months after the implementation of new rules on compound rubber imports, the inspection and quarantine authority in Tianjin has checked relevant products of 2,900 tons, valued at nearly 10 million US dollars.

Compound rubber imports were involved in China’s Catalogue of Entry-Exit Goods that shall be Inspected and Quarantined by Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Authorities (the Catalogue for short) since Feb.

Compound rubber products imported via Tianjin port mainly come from Thailand, the US, Republic of Korea, Malaysia and Britain.

Those products are for producing tires, insulating barriers of wires and cables, as well as rubber products, and the importers are from Hebei, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and other 30 some localities.

Someone works with Tianjin inspection and quarantine authority discloses that the acceptance of compound rubber imports tops 99%, meeting companies’ productiondemand well.

The authority conducted field inspection and sent samples to labs, and found 14.5 tons disqualified rubber.

Compound rubber said in the Catalogue refers to a mixture with crude rubber, carbon black and silicon oxide evenly mixed.

After the adjustment, the content of crude rubber shall not excess 88% as technical regulations require.
