The second edition of the Tire+ exhibition, organised by China United Rubber Company, got underway today in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province China at the world-famous Canton show ground. The show runs in parallel with the large-scale Guangzhou Autoshow (itself a top three automotive event in China) as well as the China Essen Motor Show and continues until 19 November.
While only the second edition of Tire+, there is an air of familiarity about the event because its roots go back to the days when the show was run in partnership with Germany’s Messe Essen exhibition company and branded Reifen China. Of course the Reifen brand name is still in existence – under new ownership so to speak – but the ethos of the original show can still be seen. One feature that shines through both the first edition of Tire+ and the current show is the focus on quality as opposed to quality.
There may not be a large number of exhibits but all are large stands of high quality, focus on product and technology developments and come from the Chinese industry’s leading players. 2018 exhibitors include: Zhongce Rubber Group Co., Ltd.; Double Coin Holdings Ltd.; Prinx Chengshan (Shandong) Tire Co., Ltd.; Jiangsu General Science Technology Co., Ltd.; Qingdao Doublestar Marketing Co., Ltd.; Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group Rubber Co., Ltd.; and Qingdao Sentury Tire Co., Ltd.
Then there is the shows decision to run alongside Guangzhou Auto Show (which is second only to the Beijing and Shanghai motor shows in terms of prestige) and the China Essen Motor Show and its inherent tuning pedigree. For its part the Guangzhou Auto Show brings both class and huge footfall volume. Not only does it have eight full halls from the widest range of domestic and global carmakers, most of the ultra-premium marques are here. Specifically, this includes the likes of Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini, Maserati, Porsche and Tesla as well as volume brands such as VW, Citreon, Ford and Peugeot – not to mention all the major Chinese carmakers include Shanghai Automotive, Chery and Geely to name just three of the larger ones. This combination is expected to bring 100,000 visitors over the four days of the exhibition.
