BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- China intends to refine its guideline on the automobile industry and encourage automakers to research and develop core parts instead of finished vehicles, said Ministry of Commerce official Su Jing on Friday in Ningbo city of East China's Zhejiang province.
The country's auto core parts production is currently at the preliminary level while China was ranked the second in terms of auto production after more than 18 million finished automobiles were sold in 2010.
The government, therefore, would make some changes when revising its guideline on foreign investment in industry, said Su. And the new guideline would also stress the importance of R&D into new-energy vehicle components.Enditem
