Malaysia’s natural rubber (NR) exports in March 2015 rose 9.6 per cent to 61,167 tonnes from the corresponding month last year, the Statistics Department said.
In a statement Wednesday, the department said Standard Malaysian Rubber (SMR) accounted for 92.1 per cent of the total exports.
The commodity was exported mainly to China (41.1 per cent) followed by Germany (10.4 per cent), Iran (7.3 per cent) the United States (5.3 per cent), Finland (3.1 per cent), Brazil (3.1 per cent), Taiwan (3.1 per cent), Turkey (2.1 per cent) and South Korea (1.7 per cent).
Imports of NR in March 2015 rose 20.3 per cent to 78,123 tonnes, while production of NR decreased 18.2 per cent to 60,918 tonnes.
NR stocks gained 13.8 per cent to 209,772 tonnes from a year ago.
