Continental Tire recently outlined their expansion and growth plans, as the company continues to work to keep up with global demand. The company is expanding capacity on three continents with investments of over CDN $1.3 billion, in the second half of 2011 alone.
Continental anticipates increasing production by over 20 million tires worldwide with explansions plans in their Brazilian plant in Camacari, a new plant in China (Hefei), a new plant in Russia, their US plant in Mount Vernon, Illinois, and in India.
Continental is also planning to increase its activities in truck tire retreading. By starting its own production for truck tire hot retreading in Western Europe, Continental will spread the new ContiLifeCycle concept introduced in 2010 over a broader base.
