Leading tyre manufacturer Kumho has combined comfort and performance in its new KL33 premium SUV and four wheel drive tyre.
The KL33 is the first tyre in Kumho's new Cru-Gen premium SUV tyre range, short for 'cruising generation,' and matches the typical modern day city and highway driving use of family sized SUVs such as the Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorrento, Holden Captiva, Ford Territory and Jeep Cherokee with 15 sizes ranging between 17 and 20 inches.
According to David Basha, Kumho Tyre Australia's national training and marketing manager, the Cru-Gen KL33 has been developed to provide a quality comfortable tyre with good performance and durability attributes for the SUV market.
"SUVs account for about 25 per cent of the Australian market and are hugely popular with growing families," said David Basha.
"The KL33 caters is a long lasting, safe tyre providing good ride in all conditions whether its around town, doing the school run or on family holidays on the open road."
Kumho has used its latest silica compound to provide a more stable and durable tyre in the KL33 which aids brake performance and handling as creates more comfortable ride.
The Cru-Gen range features optimised road contact using Kumho's ESCOT technology (Excellent and Smart Contour Optimization Theory) which strengthens the bead and shoulder of the tyre ensuring a greater contact area with the road while also decreasing road noise.
Varied tread pitch also assists in reducing road noise and making it three per cent quieter than competitor's equivalent tyres.
Four wide longitudinal grooves and semi-knurled inner tread blocks give the KL33 excellent water channelling properties to ensure the tyre has contact with the road when it counts the most in wet weather and decreases the risk of aquaplaning.
"Traction is even more important with larger vehicles like SUVs," added David.
"The KL33 delivers peace of mind motoring and is the ideal tyre for family vehicles because of its handling capabilities, slow wear rate and excellent water dispersion."
