Sinopec International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. and Russia's leading petrochemical company Sibur have set up a joint venture developed on the basis of Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant (KZSK) in Russia.
A shareholder agreement was signed recently during the visit by Dai Houliang, senior vice president of Sinopec Corp., toRussia, said a release by Sibur on Monday.
The two sides mull over an expansion of the production capacity of nitrile butadiene rubber to 56,000 tonnes per year from 42,500 tonne per year.
The two companies are also discussing the establishment of another JV in China's Shanghai to produce nitrile butadiene rubber and isoprene rubber with annual capacity of 50,000 tonnes.
