Shandong Linglong Tire has appointed John Hagan as chief operating officer of its Americas division. Previously, Hagan was national vice president for Kumho Tires USA, which he joined in 2013. Hagan brings with him 20 years of tyre industry experience. In addition to working for Kumho, he has held positions with Toyo Tires USA and Pirelli North America.
Linglong Americas is a subsidiary of Shandong Linglong, a Chinese tyre manufacturer with two factories in mainland China and one in Thailand. The company also has R&D centres in Beijing and Zhaoyuan in China, as well as a further centre in Akron, Ohio.
Despite the news of Hagan’s departure, it is said to be business as usual at Kumho. “In preparation for John’s departure, we have already taken steps to fill his position,” Tire Review quoted Harry Choi, president and CEO of Kumho Tire USA as saying, adding: “Our division vice president staff are trained leaders that will guide the sales force in the interim, ensuring that our customers are not affected by this transition period. There are no hard feelings on our end, and wish John the best of luck in his position.”
