Zhongya tire proving ground, the large outdoor tire proving ground invested and established by Linglong, officially entered pilot operation on Oct. 18 in Zhaoyuan, Shandong province.
China lacks large outdoor proving ground for a long time, resulting in inaccurate and outdated tire testing data, and the progress of China’s R&D in tires is delayed.
Linglong Group invested nearly 1.2 billion yuan in 2012 kicking off the tire proving group project.
The proving group is equipped with the world’s leading testing equipment and there are 16 testing tracks, including high speed loop and noise testing track.
The proving ground is capable of testing passenger car tires, light truck tires, heavy-duty truck tires and bus tires and conducting field testing and indoor testing of more than 40 indices of the tires.
Zhongya tire proving ground is designed by Spain-based IDIADA, who also gave guidance to and supervised the construction.
At the inaugural, guests visited the T9 and T4 tracks, and watched the simulation braking and operating tests of Hongqi limousine on the wetland, as well as the performances of Linglong women racing team and truck stunt team.
