Maxxis International Inc. plans to unveil its first ever runflat tire for the European aftermarket at Reifen 2016, which takes place from May 24-27 in Essen, Germany.
The tire maker said in an April 19 press release that the M36+ runflat tire, which has been available in China for the last two years, employs materials and design technologies that are said to deliver “outstanding performance in wet and dry conditions.”
A Maxxis spokesman in the U.S. said there are no plans to introduce the tire to the North American market.
The tire’s advanced bead filler rubber compound is designed to minimize heat generation and tire-area deformation to secure the tire and wheel assembly, which improves ride comfort by increasing durability under zero inflation pressure, Maxxis said.
Another feature is Maxxis’ latest rayon body ply material which, according to the company, delivers increased heat resistance, maintains tire integrity and durability.
“The M36+ represents a huge step forward in ensuring we uphold our position as one of the world’s top 10 tire manufacturers, so having increased our manufacturing capacity, as well as made substantial advances in our manufacturing processes, we are pleased to welcome it into Europe,” said Lenny Lee managing director of international sales at Maxxis.
“Until now, our dealers have only been able to offer customers premium brand runflat tires, so we are certain that following the launch of our M36+, many of our dealers will now stock Maxxis in order to provide their customers with a high quality, mid-range alternative.”
