China's Double Coin Holdings Ltd. has hired Tim Phillips to be vice president, marketing and operations of its China Manufacturers Association L.L.C. (CMA) subsidiary in Monrovia.
Double Coin said Mr. Phillips — who comes to CMA from Alliance Tire Group — will focus on building the Double Coin brand, growing operations and assisting in developing new strategies for the company's commercial products throughout North America. He will be based at CMA's headquarters in Monrovia.
According to Double Coin, Phillips has more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience in the automotive and commercial tire industry.He comes to CMA/Double Coin after serving as Alliance Tire's business development western region and national account manager for the past three years. There he was responsible for growing the OTR and truck tire business in Alliance's western region.
Prior to that he was with industrial tire distributor Camoplast Solideal Inc. (now Camso) for eight years as national account manager.
In 2001, Mr. Phillips opened International Tire Warehouse in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and grew the company to $3.5 million in sales in less than two years, according to Double Coin. He sold the business in 2005.
