Finixx Global Industry Co. Ltd., a Thai supplier of self-sealing tires under the Finixx brand, reportedly is planning to build a plant in Baoji, Shaanxi Province, according to a recent report by Baoji Radio.
The project represents an investment of $156 million and will be located at Baoji's Jinhe Industrial Park. The plant would span more than 7 million square feet and have a capacity rated at 5 million tires a year, the Baoji Radio report said.
The plant, if built, reportedly would be Finixx's second in China. The Bangkok-based company is reported to have opened a plant in 2017 in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, rated at 5 million tires a year.
Finixx uses a thermoplastic elastomer layer in the construction of its tires that it claims seals punctures, according to information on the firm's website.
The company also markets a range of truck and bus radials it said are manufactured in Thailand. These tires are produced by Linglong Tire (LLIT Thailand Co. Ltd.), according to DOT code on photos of tires on the firm's Facebook page.
The company sells in Asia, Africa and South America. Bangkok-based Finixx Global Industry is part of Finixx Group, which also is active in military-related bullet-proof clothing and body armor, BioLubri industrial lubricants and diesel fuel filters.
