Russian Sibur recently announced to stop its synthetic rubber project in Shanghai.
In 2011, the company said it planned to build up 50,000 tons/year of NBR production line and 50,000 tons/year of SBIR production line with Chinese Sinopec in Shanghai.
After completion, Sibur will take 25.1% of stake and Sinopec will take 74.9%.
Sibur said that Shanghai project has competed project design, but the project was not suitable to market environment now. That is why the company stopped the project.
Sibur has built up a joint factory with Sinopec in Russia, which could produce 42,500 tons of NBR factory..
