Geely Automobile Holding Limited (Geely Automobile or Group) said it achieved its highest-ever Nov. sales with 143,234 new cars sold in total (including the sales of Lynk & Co-branded vehicles), a year-on-year growth of roughly 1% and a month-on-month increase of around 10%.
Among vehicles sold last month, 14,135 units were new energy and electrified vehicles (NEEVs), maintaining a rising trend from a monthly low of 4,476 units in July 2019. Of those, four hotter-selling models—the Emgrand EV, the Xingyue MHEV, the Jiaji MHEV and the Geometry A—together accounted for around 66% of the total NEEV sales volume.
Besides, the Group said its export volume was up around 2% over a year ago to 3,173 units in November, and the sales volume for China market edged up roughly 1% to 140,061 units.
After 11 months through November, Geely Automobile sold 1,231,524 new vehicles (-13%), completing 91% of its revised annual sales target.
Speaking of the specific models, the Group said the respective sales volume of six models, including the Boyue, the Binyue, the Emgrand and the Emgrand GS, all exceeded 10,000 units in November.
Last month, the sales volume of Geely Boyue, which consists of the Boyue PRO and the 2020 Boyue, jumped 13% from the year-ago period to 22,166 units, for the sixth month in a row representing month-on-month growth.
Besides, aggregated sales of the Binyue, the first BMA (B-segment Modular Architecture)-based SUV, had exceed 140,000 units, of which 12,875 units were sold in November. The sales volume of the Xingyue crossover SUV hit a new high of 3,809 units, 14% more than its Oct. sales.
Driven by the all-new Vision X6 that hit the market at the end of October, the Vision SUV, with 10,653 units sold, boasted a month-over-month sales surge of 40%. In addition, the sales volume of the Vision X3 and the Vision S1 reached 12,902 units and 2,866 units respectively in November.
At the Auto Guangzhou 2019, Geely showcased the ICON, its second BMA-based SUV model, and kicked off the presale at the same time. Surprisingly, 2020 units of the Geely ICON “Milky Way” limited edition were sold out only 15 minutes after the presale began. Reportedly, the new model will go on sale in January, 2020.
What's more, the Nov. sales volume of Lynk & Co-branded vehicles totaled 14,131 units, the highest monthly sales volume level over the past twelve months.
