Parker Hannifin Engineered Material (Wuxi) plans to expand rubber seals capacity by 3 billion units per year at the parent group's existing site in Wuxi, in the Jiangsu province.
The project's second environmental impact review started in January, according to an announcement on local government website.
Located in the city's Xishan Economic and Technological Development Zone, the project hasabout $10.3 million earmarked with 236,000-sq.-ft. total floor area rented from another Parker Hannifin subsidiary.
The project's capacity includes more than 500 million units per year of automotive-related specialty rubber parts and O-rings, and 2.5 billion units per year of medical rubber seals.
The new facilities are slated to finish installation in June 2020 and start trial runs in July, according to the project's environmental impact report.
It is expected to have 400 employees and generate $9.1 million annual profit on about $90 million in annual sales, the report said.
