Yunxian County in Southwest China’s Yunnan province on May 12 kicked off construction of a 100,000 mt/year secondary aluminium processing project and a 60,000 mt/year waste battery treatment project, according to sources.
With an estimated investment of 84.54 million yuan, the secondary aluminium project will mainly produce secondary aluminium and casting alloy, while the battery treatment project, with an investment of 95.94 million yuan, will generate 2# lead, lead-base alloy, sodium sulphate and plastic housing.
The projects followed the commissioning of two more key projects of waste tire processing and high-purity alumina production in Yunxian County.
In 2017, there was a waste tire recycling project built up in Yunxian County, and could process 30,000 tons of waste tyres every year.
