Sailun Tire Americas (STA), the Toronto-based North American subsidiary of Chinese tire maker Sailun Group Co. Ltd., has joined the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada (TRAC).
Founded in 2002, Sailun Tire Americas maintains engineering, sales and marketing operations at its headquarters in Toronto. It becomes the 25th member of TRAC.
Carol Hochu, president and CEO of TRAC, welcomed Sailun to the organization, a national trade association that represents tire makers, rubber products manufacturers and importers as well as rubber recyclers and suppliers of goods and services for the tire and rubber industry."Sailun is an important global industry player, and we look forward to a cooperative and lasting relationship that will be mutually beneficial," Ms. Hochu said.
"Sailun Tire is thrilled to join TRAC," Sailun Tire President Peter Koszo said. "We look forward working with TRAC in the areas of advocacy, innovation, sustainability and industry data."
With 2019 sales of $2.04 billion, Sailun is considered the No. 17 tire maker worldwide, according to Tire Business calculations.
It maintains annual capacity for more than 6.5 million truck/bus tires, 40 million passenger tires and 70,000 metric tons of OTR tires, according to the company, selling its products in more than 150 countries and regions across Europe, Americas, Asia and Africa.
